Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our first choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also extremely quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performance automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and mop utilizes sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to offer better cleaning. It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we've not seen on other Best robot vacuum uk vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's compact models, this mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the sole robot best automatic vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite loud which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit costly however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however, it will cost you more and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

It also mops using a single pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other best robot vacuum vacuums, which means it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It also has strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean an area.
